Hi, I’m Sheila Halter. I wanted to start a blog because I found there were very few that were focused on women my age. 60. Yes we are out there and we want to know more about fashion for our us, what is going on in the design world, travel and healthy living. I’m originally from a very small town in South Dakota. In fact I’m a farm girl! So what do I know about fashion and style? I had a great style icon. My mother. She was the a hairstylist and fashion follower. Always impeccably dressed with matching handbag and hat. Most of which she made herself. The Vogue pattern book was her inspiration, and she wore it well. So naturally I became a shopper and collector of purses and shoes. After getting my degree in fine art in college my first husband and I moved to New Orleans. What a change and what an opportunity to see how Southern women put together their wardrobes. Two years later we moved to Dallas, Texas and I was hooked on BIG hair!!! Living in the city where Neiman Marcus was founded taught me much about how its not what you wear but how you wear it. Each woman should find there own personal style and stick with it. Years later we moved to Atlanta and I started working as a home decor sales person. This gave me more exposure to interior design on all levels. The showrooms were constantly changing and inspirational and the stores that I called on were amazing.
Then at 50 my life changed dramatically! I suddenly was divorced and moved for a new job with constant travel to markets in Dallas, Las Vegas, New York and Atlanta. I know how to pack a suitcase!!! I moved again and then moved back to South Dakota to take care of my aging parents. A blessing in disguise to have that time with them. Now here I am at 60 and I want to share with you some of the things I have learned about fashion, home decor, travel and wellness. I hope you enjoy reading my style.
