Hello everyone, today is the first day of the Merry & Bright Holiday Home Tour. I’m so very excited to be part of this and to share with you some of my Christmas style along with all the other talented ladies in the group.
Welcome to all of you who have come over from seeing Debbie’s beautiful decor at ReFresh ReStyle.
This year was a challenge for me to decorate our home. You see since getting married in July we now live in my husband’s home during the winter and will spend the summers in mine back in South Dakota. That means all of my collected Christmas decor is in plastic bins back in South Dakota! But what a fun challenge to make his house OUR home for Christmas. This house sits on a ridge overlooking the Tennessee River in Chattanooga and is much more rustic than our other home. Now as any of you who love to decorate know that is means making some changes and making some compromises, but it has all been so worth it. Let’s get on with the tour.
For most of us the Christmas tree is the starting point and it is always mine. I wanted to incorporate gold and silver since the living room is done in neutral colors with touches of brown. Adding some extra color came from the sea foam colored bulbs and touches of bronze.
For my packages I used the the gold and silver and I found the perfect paper and ribbon from The Paper Mart. In my next post I’ll show you more of my Christmas wrappings.
The den has a very large stone fireplace so I wanted to have a more rustic and natural feel to the decorations in here. I went with birch branches and and added greens from our backyard like pine, pine cones and magnolia leaves.
So that is a glimpse into some of the decorations in our home. I hope you have enjoyed it and now please hop over to see Tamyra at Positively Southern.
Again a huge thank you to Kellie and Shelly for putting this blog tour together and to our wonderful Paper Mart for the beautiful papers and ribbons.
Don’t forget to check out the others in the Merry and Bright Holiday Home Blog Tour.
