It’s always special to go out to dinner to celebrate, but sometimes it’s even more so just staying home. No crowds, no noisy restaurants, we choose the music and I love to cook. For Valentines Day I wanted to create a special table. Previously, I shared the table runner I made with ribbon and now let me show you a few more special items on the table.
Special little chocolates wrapped in pretty paper and gorgeous ribbon.
Pretty flowers for the centerpiece that I always like to keep low so it’s not hard to see the person across from me. Especially since it my handsome husband!
Of course, a little bubbly for two and candle light. To make for a romantic evening. That is what we love to do when we celebrate a special occasion. We have a special CD that reminds us of our high school days and takes us back to where we first knew each other. For us now at this stage of our life it’s about the little things. The sweet notes that he leaves me in the morning next to my coffee cup when he has to leave for work before I get up, making his favorite foods, him washing my car when I don’t have time, sweet little texts he sends during the day or me going to Cracker Barrel to get his favorite orange slice candies!! The fact that I know when he says your “beautiful” in his mind he believes that… and then so I do. I could not have ever believed that I would find this kind of love at 60. I wasn’t looking and neither was he………….. it just happened. God works is mysterious ways. I hope that each and everyone of you has a wonderful Valentines Day whether you are with someone special or with family and friends. I think the day is about appreciating the ones in our lives that we love.
Thank you to Paper Mart for providing the beautiful wrapping paper and ribbons that I used in this post.
